LIVING LAB

Project: Hockey’s Farm Shop

Hockey’s Farm is a family-run farm shop, cafe and butcher in Fordingbridge, established 1973 and 2025 New Forest Business of the Year. We rebuilt how it runs, on a full operations platform we now manage for the business.

Meet Henry

Every page carries Henry, a custom AI assistant we built for the shop. He answers real questions about opening hours, the menu, products and the animals, takes table bookings, and points visitors to the shop or events, so the team isn’t fielding the same enquiries all day. Not a scripted FAQ box, but a genuine assistant that understands the business.

What we built

Not off-the-shelf tools bolted together, but one platform we designed, built and now manage. A customer website with an online shop and weekly Click & Collect. Henry, a custom AI assistant that answers questions and takes bookings. And behind the counter: a staff app for training, rota and clock-in/out, a manager back-office console, and automation that posts daily takings into Xero. One secure backend, under the shop’s own brand.

The Challenge: Manual Operational Debt

  • High-friction contact forms creating manual email backlogs.

  • Human middleware required to calculate relative dates and log café table bookings.

  • Staff time bleeding into repetitive customer service inquiries (hours, menus, animals).
